TAIPEI, Taiwan - Today, Bryton Inc officially announced the Rider S500, kicking off the new Rider "S" series performance line of GPS cycle computers. Specifically designed with adventurous cyclists in mind for easy operation and enhanced features, the Rider S500 integrates a sleek and efficient hardware design, including a crisp 2.4" screen and 4 simple buttons, advanced new features including Live Tracking, Climb Challenge, ambient light sensor, and seamless recording, as well as improved software & hardware, such as improved user interface, simultaneous 5-satellite connectivity, USB Type-C compatibility, improved processing power and customizable quick-status menu options in addition to improvements to routing and workout features.
Rider "Sport" Series
Engineered in collaboration with UCI World Tour professional cyclists, the Rider "S" series is Bryton's premiere GPS cycle computer line. The "S", standing for "Sport", encompasses the spirit of this new product line, which makes no compromises when it comes to performance. Along with an easy-to-use interface, the Rider S500 features a sleek and compact design that is optimized for pro-cyclists, combining the raw power, durability and accuracy of its predecessors with the versatility and advanced features that the professionals expect all in an enhanced aerodynamic shell.

The Rider S500 is scheduled for global release in January, and will be available in 2 different sensor bundle packages, starting at €299/£259/US$299/A$509 for the base E sku (Device, Protective Case, Sport Mount and Lanyard) unit and €379/£329/US$379/A$649 for the T sku (Sensor Bundle also including Protective Case, Sport Mount and Lanyard as well as Speed, Heart Rate and Cadence Sensors along with the Sport Mount) package. Voice Search
The Bryton Rider S500 speaks your language! With connection to the internet, the Rider S500 eliminates the need for on-screen keyboards by providing Google voice search which is available in over 100 languages, offering a quicker, more intuitive and all-around better way to search addresses or POis while riding on the road, adventuring on the trail, or anywhere you find yourself!
Improved Routing Features
The Rider S500 incorporates fuIly-featured navigation functions, providing turn-by-turn and route-guidance features all on pre-installed regional OSM maps. In addition to navigation, the Rider S500 supports advanced features to help you stay on track and get the most out of your rides, such as auto-rerouting, on-screen POis, reverse saved rides, and route retracing, and with the Bryton Active app you can plan your own or sync 3rd party routes, add custom POI/Peak information to rides and more!
Live Track
Share your real-time location with friends and family using the new Bryton Live Track feature. Simply generate a share link right from your phone and share to any messaging app with the press of a button. With the Live Track link, anyone can follow along from the web and view not only your real-time location, but also current speed, ride time, trip time, distance and last updated time!
Climb Challenge
Climb to new heights with the Climb Challenge feature. When approaching a climb, the Rider S500 will change to the Climb Section page, providing an overview of a route's climb segments. The Climb Challenge screen also features a graphical summary with multiple climbs, vivid color climb segments, distance, altitude & ascent, and start & end points, providing easy access and ride information at-a-glance.
Upgraded Workout Features & UI
Along with an improved user interface, the Rider S500 features a new resilience workout (which allows users to adjust, skip or revert workout progress) and workout note feature (which allows users to add notes from the Bryton Active app or TrainingPeaks and be viewed on workouts), making trainings even better! The new graphical workout overview allows the device to display graphical workout steps with zoom support right from the device. Additionally, during the workout, the remaining progress will be graphically shown on the workout page, which now features 2 customizable data fields, and target cadence can now be displayed alongside target power/ heart rate. Also, with customizable power zones on the target power page, power trainings have been taken to the next level!
Indoor Smart Trainer
Boasting powerful new features and with a wide range of integrations, the Rider S500 brings the thrill of the ride to your home smart trainer! With ANT+ FE-C Smart Trainer compatibility, the Bryton Rider S500 can communicate with your indoor Smart Trainer to control resistance or power (target resistance/ power), simulate custom virtual workouts (Smart Workout) or even simulate a route (Virtual Ride).
Rear-View Radar System Support
Utilizing a connected ANT+ Rear-View Radar System, cyclists can view vehicles coming from behind up to 150m with notifications to keep alert. The strips located on the right side of every data page will signal in various colors and give off a beeping sound to warn users of approaching traffic. (Green Bar: No detectable vehicles approaching from behind; Orange Bar: Vehicles approaching at normal speed; Red Bar: Vehicles approaching at high speed.)
E-Bike Support
Incorporating Shimano Steps as well as ANT+ LEV e-bike support for compatible brands, the Bryton Rider S500 brings the future to cycling. After pairing with a compatible E-Bike, the Rider S500 can display various e-bike data on-screen, including assist mode, assist level shifting mode, e-bike battery, travel range and rear gear position.
Ambient Light Sensor
Using the built-in ambient light sensor, the Bryton Rider S500 can automatically adjust its backlight based on the lighting conditions around it. When riding indoors, passing through a tunnel, under trees, etc., the backlight will automatically become brighter to compensate, ensuring optimal screen settings anywhere and anytime you ride!
Customizable Quick-Status Menu
Put the most critical cycling data at the tips of your fingers! The quick status menu is viewable at any time from the meter page by simply tapping on the screen. Customize this menu with the data you care about the most, including lap information, paired sensor statuses, and selected riding data.
Additional Improved Features
Along with leads of new features, the Rider S500 will incorporate numerous improvements and upgrades, including various quality of life enhancements, USB Type-C compatibility, option for simultaneous 5-satellite connectivity, improved processing power for an overall better user experience and reduced touch latency, as well as a new compact form factor designed with input from professional cyclists. Additionally, sporting an enormous 24hr battery, the Rider S500 makes no compromises when it comes to battery life.
