Bryton Sponsors 2019 UCI Asia Tour de Taiwan

The Chinese Taipei Cycling Association is seeking for the Tour de Taiwan to upgrade from a 2.1 to a 2.HC-class event by 2020 after making great strides in advancing standards to build a world-class race in Taiwan.The overall quality of the event has also risen sharply, including the strength of the teams, route difficulty, traffic control, player accommodations, etc. The total prize money also rose to meet the level of a 2.HC event.

The Tour de Taiwan will invite 20 elite teams from around the world to participate, including the Bryton-sponsored Asian Tour’s first Terengganu Cycling Team from Malaysia and the Italian NeriSottoliSelle Italia KTM, who won the fifth stage last year in the event. During the 5-day race, among strong opposition, the Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) cycling team will also put forth an ambitious lineup, aiming to rank among the top five teams in the competition. The Taiwanese team, led by Coach XieShiping (Chinese: 謝世平)has high hopes after recruiting both the high-profile Feng Junkai (Chinese: 馮俊凱) and Taiwan’s Du Zhihao (Chinese: 杜志濠) as well as teaming up with cyclists Peng Yuantang (Chinese: 彭源堂), Lu Shaoxuan (Chinese: 盧紹軒), Wu Zhixuan (Chinese: 吳之皓), and Wang Jinghui (Chinese: 王景徽)to improve team tactics and cohesion and compete for glory!

This year also marks the 10th year of operation for Bryton. The most recent survey, conducted by Cheyou, shows Bryton gained market share of 40.84% this year, far surpassing other brands, and gaining the first-place position in its home market. Bryton, the leading GPS Cycle Computer brand in Taiwan, has long been committed to the promotion and sponsorship of domestic cycling events. Over the past 10 years, Bryton has achieved considerable success, and in order to thank customers for their long-term support, Bryton will continue to promote the sport of cycling through the sponsorship of domestic teams and bicycle races. In addition to its continued sponsorships of the UCI Asia event this year, Bryton will also provide live information about the race, helping audiences to gain real-time information about actual position, speed, distance and other data on the leading groups and the main groups in the event. It will also fully support the Chinese Taipei team by providing them with their latest bike computer models to improve the training quality of the cyclists as well as increase the number of guards and masseurs, helping to avoid sports related injuries and soothe soreness during the intense training sessions. Bryton employees will also assist the Chinese Taipei team in with replenishing supplies and general back up during throughout the race.

The Tour de Taiwan, organized by the Chinese Taipei Cycling Association, is a UCI 2.1 event comprised of 5 stages that begins in the capital city of Taipei in Northern Taiwan and continues through the Western coast and central parts of the island until eventually coming to an end in the South in Pingtung County. This UCI event will cover some of Taiwan’s most famous tourist sites, including Taipei City and Romantic Route 3 (northern Taiwan), Sun Moon (central Taiwan), Kenting (southern Taiwan) and many others.

20 teams, with riders from every continent, will participate in this UCI Asia event that will begin at 09:15 GMT on Sunday, March 17th in Taipei, Taiwan.

About Tour de Taiwan
The Tour de Taiwan (Chinese:國際自由車環台公路大賽) is an annual professional road bicycle race covering 723km across Taiwan over 5 stages. This year, the event will take place over a 5-day period between March 17th and March 21st. This UCI race was originally established by Giant Sports Foundation in 1978 and became part of the UCI Asia Tour in 2005. Over 200 cyclists from more than 30 countries will participate in this event, which can be viewed live on YouTube courtesy of TVBS.
